Big Golf Tournament and Library Parking
The PGA Golf Tour will be held at Harding Park (across the street from Library Annex I) on October 6-11, 2009. San Francisco State University will provide some reserved parking spaces for the attendees in Lots 20 and 25. In an effort to maintain parking spaces for the campus community during this large and very popular event, SF State identification will be checked at the entrances to the parking areas. Your cooperation in having your SF State identification readily available will facilitate entrance into the parking areas. Thank you for your attention to this message.

Celebrate Banned Books Week 2009
Be it fear of wizards, concern over words, or the threat of ideas,
books have been banned and challenged by local school boards,
governments and religious leaders. Celebrate the freedom to read
September 26-October 3 by checking out and reading a banned book.

ILLiad Down for Upgrade
ILLiad, one of the Library systems that allows students, faculty and staff to borrow books not available in the Leonard Library from other libraries, will be down for a software upgrade on Friday September 11th. The upgrade will start at around 7am and should be done by 3pm. During this time ILLiad will be unavailable. The impact of the upgrade will be mostly behind the scenes. There will be minimal changes from the end user point of view.

Show Films on Demand in Fall 2009 Classes
Are you looking for some great multimedia content online? Why waste time searching on Youtube? Get to the good stuff from Films on Demand!
The Library has added Films on Demand: Digital Educational Video to our collections for research and classroom instruction.
FILMS ON DEMAND will be useful for:
- Students who wish to spice up their classroom presentations
- Professors who wish to show high quality documentaries in class
- Anyone looking for quality films online
Users who create accounts can make and distribute playlists of film clips and save lists of their favorite films. Search titles and film descriptions, or browse by subject in the Business & Economics, Health, Humanities & Social Science, Science collections.

New Library Catalog Server is Up
The upgrade of the Library Catalog Server is complete. All services should now be functional.

Library Catalog Server Currently Unavailable
The old Library Catalog server is being replaced today. For now, all Library Catalog functions, including requesting books, and off-campus access to databases, Link+ and ILLiad are unavailable. Other electronic and web-based services provided by the Library are not affected. The new Library Catalog server will be up and running as quickly as possible. We expect this to be no later than 5pm.

Library Servers Off-line 5/28 9AM – 9:30AM
Some library computer servers will be off-line Thursday, May 28 from 9AM to 9:30AM. The library website, OneCard printing and the PC reservation software will be unavailable at this time. New PC log-ins in Library Annex I will be unavailable at this time. However, if you are already logged on you will be unaffected. The MACs in Library Annex I will remain available.

Winter Session Hours
The Library has abbreviated hours during the Winter session.
Library annex I is open 8AM – 10PM Mon. – Thurs., 8AM – 5PM on Fri. and closed on Sat. and Sun.
Library @ HSS is open 8AM – 5PM Mon. – Fri. and closed on the Sat. and Sun.
